Calcium silicate ceiling board and mineral fiber ceiling board are our common ceiling materials, because they are relatively cheap and easy to install, they have become the preferred materials for general offices, shops and schools. When installing the ceiling, how do we choose whether to install the mineral fiber ceiling board or the calcium silicate ceiling board?

1) First of all, the thickness of the calcium silicate ceiling is generally 5mm-6mm, because its weight is relatively heavy, so the thickness is generally relatively thin. If the thickness of the calcium silicate board ceiling exceeds 5mm, 6mm, there may be a risk of falling off during installation. Therefore, if calcium silicate is installed as a ceiling, it is not recommended that the thickness is too thick. If the project requires a thicker ceiling, then mineral fiber ceiling board will be a good choice. The thickness of mineral fiber ceiling board can be as thick as 19mm, 20mm, but its weight is still very light in all ceilings, so this is one of the reasons why it is very popular in the market.

2) Secondly, if the price of calcium silicate ceiling is compared with mineral fiber ceiling, calcium silicate ceiling will be relatively cheaper because of its thin thickness. The thickness of the mineral fiber ceiling determines its price. The thicker the thickness, the higher the price. Moreover, the quality of the mineral fiber ceiling is different, and the price is also different. So relatively speaking, the price of mineral wool board will be slightly more expensive than the price of calcium silicate ceiling.

3) There is a little difference, the pattern of calcium silicate ceiling is not as much as that of mineral fiber ceiling board, and the installation effect is not as much as mineral fiber board. There are three or four commonly used patterns of calcium silicate ceiling board, but for mineral fiber board, there are more than 10 commonly used patterns.
