Calcium silicate board and gypsum board are very similar in appearance, both have 1.2mx2.4m specifications, and they also have similar uses. However, there are also slight differences.
First of all, the raw materials are different. The raw material of gypsum board is gypsum powder, and the raw material of calcium silicate board is siliceous material and calcium material. Although it cannot be seen from the appearance, the gypsum board is generally covered with a layer of paper, and the surface of the calcium silicate board is not pasted. From this point, the gypsum board and the calcium silicate board can be roughly distinguished.
Secondly, although gypsum board is used in suspended ceilings and there are many partition walls, calcium silicate board can also be used in suspended ceilings and partition walls. The difference is that the hardness of calcium silicate board is harder than that of gypsum board, and it is not easy to cut and shape.
Thirdly, gypsum board has fire-resistant gypsum board and non-fire-resistant gypsum board. The fire performance is slightly weaker, but the fire performance of calcium silicate board reaches Class A, which makes up for the lack of gypsum board.
Fourthly, calcium silicate board has the function of thermal insulation because its raw materials have thermal insulation properties, while gypsum board has no thermal insulation effect.
Fifth, calcium silicate board is resistant to acid , alkali and high temperature, more over, it is not easy to corrode, and it has a longer service life than gypsum board.
Sixth, the price of calcium silicate board is slightly more expensive than that of gypsum board. The thickness of gypsum board is generally 9mm-15mm, and the thickness of calcium silicate board is 4-20mm.
Seventh, calcium silicate board will not deform, crack, mold in any humidity environment, and has strong moisture-proof performance.
